Capiche.

Madi is ‘Star of the Week’ in her class this week, the first week they are doing it! So stupidly proud. There’s a little poster about her in the classroom window and it’s so cute. On the poster she said she wants to be a builder when she grows up.

When we got home, she ran into her room to put it on (again), and looked in the mirror. In a very excited voice, she yells to me ‘I look like I’m six!’

Madison woke up extra cranky. I asked her why she was so cranky when she only has one more sleep until her birthday. She burst into tears and says ‘I don’t want my birthday, I don’t want to turn five! I want to be four forever!’ At first I wasn’t sure how to react, because it shocked me that she felt that way, then eventually she told me it’s because turning five means that it’s time for ‘big school’ and she doesn’t want to leave her kindy. In her words, “but I’m happy at my kindy!”

How can I blame her, who wants to grow up?!

“Mummy, I ran with my eyes shut and didn’t bump into anything!”

and

“Mummy! I just laughed with water in my mouth and didn’t spit any of it!”

and

“For my birthday party, I want a nice clean and tidy room so we can all play in it.”

She is constant entertainment lately. Love her so.
