Madi’s birthday was so much fun, and our whole weekend has been amazing. Yesterday, the kids rode their bikes out on the street while I sat with the neighbours and had a couple of drinks in the sun as we watched them. Hard to believe it’s still winter, aside from the typical August cold wind at night.
I realised at some point yesterday that we could do Madi’s birthday every day. It cost us nothing but a bit of petrol. We spent most of the day out in the sun and we were all better off for it. Plus, it was her choice, her favourite thing to do. So, we will be doing it all the time.
I want my children to know the active lifestyle that I knew growing up. So, this week I am buying a bike for myself, and getting Lucas a new one too, and we’re going riding as often as we can. There’s no better way for them to learn than for me to role model, right? Common sense. This has me excited, though. I can’t wait to ride our bikes together.
And in a few weeks, we will be doing the 5km SIDS Stampede. One of my most favourite causes and just another excuse to get outside. Perfect.
I’m just so in love with my little family.
(reposting this photo because I seriously love it- it’s us)
